Kathy Shimizu will run a block printmaking workshop. Participants will print a set of 10 cards by carving their own block in rubber or lino. Letters from our letterpress type collection may be used as stamps as well.

We can accommodate up 8 participants only, so you are best to RSVP in advance via Eventbrite. If not all tickets are sold online, drop-in tickets will be sold at the studio.

Usually we offer a sliding scale option for our workshops, but this time we are trying to raise funds for ongoing expenses while we wait to hear about grant funding. If you would really like to take this workshop but cannot afford it, please contact us at WePressVancouver [at] gmail.com. We will definitely be offering this workshop again, and do provide workshops for free through Gallery Gachet, Carnegie Centre, and Oppenheimer Park. We try to accommodate as many people as we can!

You can pay by PayPal.

Please contact us if you have any questions at WePressVancouver [at] gmail.com.

Sorry to those who were planning to take this workshop when it was originally listed as a bookmaking workshop. We have to postpone the Bookmaking Workshop by Karen Ward: Intro to Coptic Binding because Karen will be busy leading a campaign for social housing in the neighbourhood. (Rest assured we will let you know when the next bookmaking workshop will be held.)
