This workshop is for absolute beginners or anyone who needs a refresher course in traditional letterpress printing. Learn some of the basics of type setting, inking, and operating the press. By the end of this workshop you should be able to operate the press and make a print!

Space is limited and we are able to accommodate up to 8 participants. You are best to RSVP in advance via Eventbrite or email us if you want to reserve your spot and pay cash on the day of the workshop. Also, if not all spots are taken online, you can join us on the day of the workshop at the studio if there is still space when you arrive.

Kathy Shimizu is a graphic designer, artist, and community activist from Winnipeg who has lived in Vancouver for many years, with a 5-year hiatus in Philadelphia. She has been making block prints since the late 90s and received her Bachelor of Design degree in Communication Design from Emily Carr Institute in May 2005.
