Portfolios were used as early as the Medieval Period to protect and carry artworks, maps or documents. As beautiful papers and fabrics became affordable, portfolios were transformed from practical leather to gorgeous works of art themselves. Participants will learn time honoured bookbinding techniques to construct a portfolio with Italian decorative papers. Participants can choose between an elastic closure or ribbon ties.
Each student will complete one hardcover portfolio.
No prior experience is necessary. All materials and tools will be provided. All supplies are vegan.
