
We are happy to announce that from May to July, we’re hosting free community workshops supported by Yarrow Society with their residency at the MacLean Park Fieldhouse (MacLean Park, 710 Keefer St.) with a fantastic group of artists, Jotika Chaudhary Samant, Sarah Wong, Maria Cecilia Saba, and Jillian Christmas. Learn new skills in zine-making, collage, dance, singing, and more!
The workshops are free and open to any level of experience. Space is limited, so please register in advance! To allow as many people as possible to participate, we kindly ask that you register for only one workshop per artist.

JUNE 14TH & JUNE 21ST, 12.30-4PM. Maria Cecilia:
Maria Cecilia: Bold, Bright and Beautiful: A Peruvian Lettering Workshop, explore chicha lettering—a bold, colourful street art tradition from Peru.
- We will have access to indoor space with HVAC Filters, and outdoor space under a tent. The workshops will take place rain or shine, so please dress for your needs according to the weather!
- ASL, Cantonese/Mandarin Interpretation will be provided for all workshops. Please confirm if you will be using these services! We know that ASL grammar relies on mouth shapes, and we’re happy to navigate conflicting access needs, but we aim to prioritize COVID safety at these workshops.
- Recognizing that the ongoing pandemic continues to cause isolation for many, these workshops offer a chance to gather as safe as possible. To ensure everyone’s well-being, KN95 masks will be required for all participants and will be provided, along with hand sanitizer, at the location. We know that ASL grammar relies on mouth shapes, and lip reading can be crucial for hard of hearing folks. We’re happy to navigate conflicting access needs, but we aim to prioritize COVID safety at these workshops. To ensure a safe environment for everyone, we require all participants to follow COVID safety guidelines. If you cannot or are not able to commit to these protocols at this time, please consider coming to our future events or reach out to us.
