Hey everyone! Please check out our GoFundMe Campaign!
We want to thank everyone for supporting WePress since we opened in February 2016, and in the months prior to the opening when we were just getting off the ground.
We are in that zone where we have some current funding, and are raising some funds through our paid workshops, but don’t have quite enough to keep us going until the next round of funding comes through. We are still a volunteer-run collective, have just received our non-profit status, and are busy writing grants and developing a long-term sustainability plan.
In the meantime, we hope that those of you who agree that a community artspace like WePress is important to the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver, and to the Lower Mainland in general, and can afford to chip in some funds will please donate some money to our GoFundMe Campaign.
We are committed to providing access to our letterpress and type collection, 3D printer, and industrial sewing machine to all, and to developing a social enterprise whereby artists, and low-income and marginalized people can receive payment for their work – for the workshops they teach, the knowledge they share, the artwork they create, and the community they build.
Help us make WePress a vibrant place of work and skills-building for both artists and residents of the DTES by making a donation. Every little bit helps!
